FCAN’s State Board of Directors met in Orlando on Saturday and elected a new board and officers for the next two years in accordance with the by-laws. All our officers were re-elected, so Lonnie Thompson is President, Tom Walker vice president, Denise Coburn treasurer, and Mark Ferrulo is secretary.
FCAN six coalition board members remain. These organization members each have a vote on the board. They are SEIU, AFSCME, Equality Florida, Florida Justice Association, Humanists of Florida, and the West Central Florida Federation of Labor AFL-CIO.
Nine at-large board members were elected: Cathy Bowers, Sheldon Busansky, Denise Coburn, Mark Ferrulo, Cam Oberting, Lonnie Thompson, Tom Walker, Rosette Walsh, and new board member Tom Zucco.
In addition, the staff is represented by Tom Krumreich, and the Executive Director, Bill Newton, is also a member of the board.
After the election, the board reviewed the budget for 2011, a difficult process, and brainstormed ideas for program and fundraising for the year.
